Andorra Customs

Customs in Andorra (Duana Andorrana) has three main missions: fiscal, protection, and economic mission. Andorran Customs action is exercised throughout the national territory.

Given its privileged position, Customs collaborate with other Ministries and departments of the Administration in the fields of health, culture, intellectual property, industrial security, etc. In this sense, the third of the Customs missions is a mission of protection.

Customs contribute to consumer protection (counterfeiting, piracy, technical regulations), public health (control of drugs, narcotics) and public safety (control of weapons), heritage protection (control artworks) fight against fraud and international trafficking.

Andorra Duty-Free Allowance

When you return to the European Union after visiting the Principality of Andorra, you can take per person the quantities or values ​​of products purchased in Andorra without paying customs duties or taxes, which are indicated below. If you do not exceed the limits, and as long as the products are for personal use, you will not need to declare them to Andorran Customs. Bear in mind that allowed amounts and values ​​may vary by age.

Maximum quantities and amounts per person.

The permitted quantities of alcoholic beverages, tobacco, coffee, tea, perfumes, and colognes are limited and their values ​​are not taken into account. The permitted quantities of milk, butter, cheese, sugar, sweets, and meat are limited and their values ​​are taken into account. In contrast, for other products the limit only applies to the value.

Money

To combat tax fraud and money laundering, you are obliged to declare coins, bank bills, bank checks to bearer, traveler’s checks, etc., whose total amount is equal to or greater than €10,000, in national currency or its counter value in foreign currency, at the Spanish/French customs.

Other

Important: inquire at any EU customs office about any special limitations that may apply at any time and, in particular, on animal or plant products, live animals, endangered species, medicines, arms, ammunition, art, collector’s items, currency, gold, and means of payment.

Import Duty Tax in Andorra

Customs duties or import duties and taxes will be pending and need to be cleared while importing goods into Andorra whether by a private individual or a company. Andorra calculates customs tariffs by using the CIF method, which means the import duty and taxes are calculated based on the value of the imported goods together with shipping costs.

Andorra Customs Offices

The Andorran Customs service is located on the border of the river Runer (Spanish-Andorran border), Porta (French-Andorran border), and is also present in the various post offices to control imports of goods entering the territory of the Principality of Andorra. Services are centralized at the central Customs office located in Escaldes-Engordany.

Customs are permanently present at the two border points, but its control is exercised throughout the national territory.
